Atop High Falls
Atop High Falls, 14x18, Oil.
As I returned from my Gram's funeral in Kentucky last week, I went out of my way in determination to find and paint this falls in Northern Alabama. Painting along the way meant getting home at midnight after working on this till near closing time at the park. Loaded down with all my gear, I was heading up the hill when I heard the patrolman's siren, which I assume was my "get-out" signal. It was thanks to Google maps that I found the place. But no thanks to anyone I talk to en route, none of them knew this natural wonder even exists.
The last two photo's are compliments of Axel Tegtmeier who journeyed to capture the beauty of the falls on the same day I did.
