Rambling Rose

Rambling Rose, SOLD, Oil, 14x18
We have painted at this farm 3 times, so many choices there! I start by playing miss wild-life photographer, though I inevitably end up focusing on the landscape in bloom. My camera really likes to focus on the animals, so much so that the batteries were down by painting time & I had to fill in with droid/camera.  I'll let the Canon share today...

The Wildlife Sanctuary brought out some of it's recovering feathered friends. The Farm is on N. Blue Angel Parkway. On the south end is the Naval Air Station- Home of the Blue Angels. They practice over my house, waking me many a morning with their dazzling sky dives. I'm always glad for the back porch air show, but check out the you-tube video I found when searching for this Louis Armstrong tune- "What a Wonderful World".

Jill, I'm a big fan. I was so happy to see this post pop up and then I realized, I had been gone most of Aug and Sept and I bet I missed some of your posts! IT was very enjoyable to see the work, I love your way of making things so exciting and prettier than the actual setting!
You should teach, I would come from TX!

What a beautiful painting, Jill! Those roses are gorgeous. Love the changes you made from the reference to the painting... I believe you could paint anywhere, anything and make something beautiful out of it :-)

Wow, you-all are such sweet-hearts! Your responses!... makes posting worth the effort, not to mention, makes me want to be a better painter- and possibly a worthy teacher.

And...
"What-up?" (2my Northern friends) [she said, with no attempt at a Yankee accent].

Mary Jane- It's a bloomin' botanical, in my mind.
I gotta claim innocent on this one- it was only after your comment, I googled it.

Looks like you have been busy. Your painting is great but your eye for photography is great too. Wish me and the boys would have had you with us this past weekend. We went whitewater rafting in West Va on the Upper Gauley River class V rapids one of the worlds best. The landscape was awesome and the river was Wild. I'm proud of ya Your big Sis G.
